WE ARE CONFIDENT THAT FUN & GAMES DAY FOLLOWED BY THE SUMMER FAIR WILL GO AHEAD AS PLANNED

THE CURRENT FORECAST IS THAT IT WILL BRIGHTEN UP THIS AFTERNOON - PLEASE CHECK THE WEBSITE FOR UPDATES

As we have already advised, our current hot meals service provider, Sodexo, finishes their contract with Milton Keynes Council on July 3rd. Unfortunately parents will have no alternative but to provide their children with packed lunches for the last two weeks of term (children who are entitled to free school meals will be provided with a free packed meal by Cygnet, the new provider).

Parental packs are expected to be sent out in the next few days detailing the arrangements and containing order forms for the Autumn Term.

We are very proud to have received the Milton Keynes School Sport Partnerships "School of the Year" award for the Walton Partnership Family at Key Stage 1. Miss Stewart has worked very hard to encourage everyone in our school to be more active and this award recognises how successful we have been in this aim.

We also hold the Basic Skills Primary Quality Mark - this is awarded to schools that have reached a high standard of teaching and learning in literacy and numeracy.

Activemark - this was achieved because 90% of pupils across the school have taken part in at least 2 hours of high quality PE or school sports each week.

We are now officially a “Healthy School”. This is a government scheme which schools are encouraged to participate in.  It promotes the links between behaviour, good health and achievement. To achieve the status there are 45 different criteria which we have to fulfil, from encouraging children to walk or cycle to school to providing confidence building activities for children.

Miss Catherine Paul has worked very hard to make sure we meet all the criteria and we  would like to thank her for all her efforts. We would also like to thank the other staff, governors, parents and children who have supported her. We are sure that our children will benefit from the improvements we have made to meet the standards.

In 1998 MK Theatre invited Kents Hill School to bury a time capsule on location, during construction work. A plaque to commemorate the event can be seen in the foyer of the Theatre. To see the list of items buried in the capsule- follow the link from the MK Theatre Logo.
