In
Reception children follow the Curriculum for the Foundation Stage. This is
government guidance for children of this age. It consists of 6 areas of
learning – Communication, Language and Literacy, Mathematical
Understanding, Knowledge and Understanding, Creative Development, Physical
Development and Personal and Social Development. Equal importance is given
to each area within the curriculum.

|
How can I
prepare my child for starting school? |
|
During
the summer term before your child starts, you will be invited to attend an
interview with the Headteacher. We also hold a meeting for parents. At
these meetings we will discuss preparations for your child's admission.
If
your child joins our school at a later date they will receive a buddy
booklet for them to complete and bring to school on their first day. This
will give them information about the school and their teacher. Children who join our school at the start of the academic
year will be given an opportunity to meet their teacher on a changeover
morning.
